Student Success Center at A. Philip Randolph Campus High School
Philip Randolph Campus High School (APRCHS) is thrilled to announce the launching of the new Student Success Center in September!
The Student Success Center will be located in room 109 and will part of the Student Achievement Hub along with Sound Business Incorporated, Project Rousseau, and our College Counselor Ms. Ana Cruz.
The Student Success Center (SSC) is made up of two college counselors, Stacei Bosques, and Jesus Ventura, as well as eight APRCHS students who have been trained as youth leaders. The Youth Leaders have been working hard all summer long to prepare for their new role in September. Youth Leaders will be responsible for planning workshops during lunch periods and after school to engage the entire school community in the four year college admissions process.
The Youth Leaders and their Counselors met with Principal David Fanning, Assistant Principal Daniel Calcano, Risa Whipple from the East Side House CBO, Rebecca Kruge from CARA, and Maggie Brown from the NYCDOE Office of Post-Secondary Readiness to lay out their plans for next year. APRCHS is very proud of all of the work that these young people have put into this project this summer and we are all looking forward to see the effect that the Youth Leaders have on our College Going Culture in the coming year.
